CARDIO-KICKIN' TESTIMONIALS

When I started Paul’s Kickboxing classes, I had dropped from a size sixteen to a twelve. I was at a plateau and my diet and exercise classes were not sufficient to burn enough calories or build muscles and allow me to lose the additional weight.
After starting classes on a regular basis, I began losing a dress size every month or so. For a year, I maintained a Size Two in blue jeans. I love the strength I’ve gained and am wearing sleeveless shirts for the first time in my life.
Kickboxing works and leads me to my goals. It releases stress and keeps my mental state elevated. Paul is always changing routines so I have the comfort of the familiar stretches, yet remain mentally and physically challenged by the workouts.

Patty O’Brien ( 2+ yrs Kick-Boxing)

I have been taking Paul’s Kickboxing classes for at least 5 yrs. I have gained lean muscle tone and 40 lb weight loss that I’ve kept off for more than a year. The people are friendly and provide a support system to help you stay on track and achieve your goals. The routines are different each time, providing a full body workout.  The music and the atmosphere keep you motivated and improve your confidence. Paul keeps pushing for his students to reach their full potential and he really does care.  It’s not just about him taking your money, it’s personal.  Paul’s success is achieved by the personal achievements of his clients.  We are all walking trophies, both mentally and physically. I have been with Paul all this time because his workouts are far more challenging than any of the choreographed routines I got at my former health club plus I actually show up for Paul’s classes.  I don’t get bored and I don’t have to give up my spot every 15 minutes.

I have been doing Kickboxing since 2004. The cardio helps to keep in shape for skiing in the winter and surfing in the summer. I workout 2-3 days per week which helps to keep me mentally awake as well as physically fit. -Kevin Walt

I met Paul when my youngest child was one (he is now 8).  I was struggling with getting back in shape after my third child.  I had been an athlete all of my life and found that walking or regular aerobics was not enough. Then I found cardio-kickboxing.  No where else can you get a workout that is as fun, energizing or challenging as Paul’s class.  I still belonged to a large gym but found that no class they offered gave me a workout even close to what Paul was offering.
Since that time, I have brought several friends to class and made several friends at his class.  Not only does the class get you physically in shape but helps you mentally and spiritually.  The physicality of the class helps with stress reduction and I often say that I save so much money by cardio-kicking because I get to hit something.  It’s cheaper than seeing a therapist.
Cardio-kicking has become a part of my life.  I never feel as good before class as I do after and miss it when I can’t come.  Thanks to Paul for being my “rock”. “ -Mary Mack

This is my 5th month. I started with the kickboxing classes. Combining the kickboxing with the Fit Camp I have lost 16 pounds and many inches, I feel and look better and stronger today then I ever did before.Well, I LOVE the kickboxing classes. It is a complete body workout in one hour. I love punching and kicking the bag, it’s a healthy way for me to get rid of my demons.   Thanks Paul.-Yafit Tulk

For months, my teenage daughter would suggest I accompany her to kickboxing class. My though was, “What am I going to do in a class of young adults.” She finally convinced me to just try it. I have been writing checks to Paul ever since that day in March 2004.

I was a walker, took the stairs - not the elevator, went to the gym, and was reasonably active. I knew I wasn’t in top shape (whatever that is), but I felt I was okay, could definitely do more than many of my peers. Wow, did that first class wake me up!! Stand on one leg and move?? Punch, punch, jab, kick, what?? This guy had to be kidding!! And out of breath – more like oxygen deprivation!! Okay, my daughter was right – I needed this class. And it was not a class of young people, but a broad range of ages, and they could do this stuff?! If they could do it, so could I. Muscles, ready or not, here we go.

The improvements did not happen over night, though the achy muscles said something was happening that first night. After a few weeks, the floor seemed closer and easier to reach; stairs were shorter. A few more weeks and I could stand on one foot, found that punch-punch-jab-kick had a rhythm, and there was more oxygen in the room. The challenges in the kickboxing class changed, now I was finding sleeping muscles and they were letting me know they were not happy about having to wake up. That’s a good thing; those lazy muscles make life easier when used.

The classes are structured so I can maximize my efforts while others may maximize their efforts, improve as I go, but always have something to work towards. Unlike other classes I have taken, there is no maxing out. As I train my muscles to act as a team, I feel I keep getting stronger, more flexible, and more energetic. When I can’t make class, my body misses it.

For an added challenge, I tried the kettlebell class in January of 2007. There were instant results. My back is stronger, I stand and sit straighter after only a couple of classes. I now have my own bell. It sits in my hallway and every time I have to pass it I swing it a few times. It feels real good to keep those muscles on their toes, the blood circulating and the brain clear.

I am happier, have more energy, my body is more toned - and no, I don’t look like the Hulk! And yes, my 20 something daughter still goes when she can. - Mary Thomsen
